John's Honey Baked Figs


Recipe from HolyLand's Food at the Time of the Bible

  • 1/2 pound dried figs
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 1/4 cup clear honey

Make a hole at the stem end of each fig and stuff with walnuts.  Place in a 6" casserole.  Mix the wine and honey and pour over the figs. Cover and bake for 30 minutes.  Serve at room temperature.
