Snickerdoodles .: Classic Soft Sugar Cookies

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 & 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 & 2/3 to 2 & 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 to 2 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoon baking soda


  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground Cinnamon




Cream butter and sugar together then add eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Stir until moistened. Roll into balls; then roll cookie dough in the topping mixture. Place 2 inches apart on an un-greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes untli lightly browned. Makes about 44 cookies.
